After your dog has learned the
basics of sit, lay down and stay,
these are the commands that will
be used in teaching him to ride in
a car. If he seems to stress a
lot when in the car, have a family
member sit with him to comfort him
for the first few times.
Keep the first trips in the car
short, and gradually increase the
length of the trips until he
doesnt object to being in the car.
Remember that a dog will pick up
on your stress, and if you are
anxious about teaching him, he
will become anxious too.
